I too have had similar feelings when I see Rupi Kaur's work in the world, or the heartbreaking/heartopening book by Charlie Mackey, "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" or by Elle Lunas, "The Crossroads of Should and Must." I see these books and I think, "why didn't I do that, why CAN'T I do that? Why doesn't my brian think that way?" But I think that it does. I think these books touch something that is so deeply hidden and protected in me, I think they are not for me, because I protect and shut down instead of nurture. I want to be perfect the first time instead of play to see what comes. But you have inspired me. It is time for me to search out what this desire is and see how it comes to life from my own heart. So my dream is to publish a book of essays or wisdoms along with drawings. And I do not draw, at least that's what I have always told myself. So now it's time to let go and see what happens when I let the light and love of the universe come through me, rather than trying to push something out with my ego-brain. ❤️🙏
They touch something - yes they do! And it activates a desire in us. I’m so moved by your share and anything you dream my dear I’m hear to cheer you, you’re heart’s beat is palpable through your work, it’s a gift to the world! And of course the purpose of a dream is our soul’s fulfilment, who are we to say no?! X
Thank you for this reminder that dreams and ideas are waiting for us to speak them into being. My dreams have not had much support in recent years, so I️ hold them close and keep them quiet. I️ agree, lately there is a new energy for creation and my quiet project has been knocking loudly to get out of the box. So I️ will speak it into being and hope that my memoir in poetry and salvaged photos (my childhood home burned) will find a home next to your wonderful book of poetry and illustrations. Thank you for this space to share.
YES YES YES! such a beautiful letter, my god! I feel so inspired and relate to everything you share here. This era of creativity also feels different for me, and community is definitely a part of it. Also, I want to intuit into the process and be guided by the things I like and little by little form a clear picture without having to control what is the final place, if it is ever one. Being on Substack is definitely the first step - getting comfortable with what I'm sharing, with my voice, and sitting in the void of what it is to explore something totally new, as it is writing, sharing, and being seen.
What a joyful revolution we’re in - to be guided by what we love! I fully feel you with the Substack thing, it’s been such a catalyst for growth for me and many others, and building confidence and resilience with being seen.
I wholeheartedly agree: saying dreams aloud makes them more likely to come to fruition. I’m in the middle of running a course on ‘how to make that dream come true’ for that exact reason. Your dream sounds wonderful. Good luck xx

I have so many dreams… I definitely would love to write a book… I want to write a hybrid book on motherhood as a transformative portal… part reflective guide, part memoir, poetry, meditation… a kind of balm for Mothehood. I also dream of having a deck of cards, a healing circle space in my garden to welcome other women and Mothers in to be held in their transformative threshold moments, to create ritual and ceremony for them. I dream of travelling with my family and watching my girls running on the beach at sunset. I dream of our home taking shape in the way I wish for it (it’s a project home) and having my dream kitchen to welcome others in to sit and share food with me.
So many dreams… thank you for holding them here. Xxx
